Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley
8 April 2011
Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.
A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.
The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offenses.
He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution .
The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.
Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be unsafe.
"These types of products being offered, typically online, have actually undergone no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their security.
"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More notably, you do not know the effect drugs like this might have on your health."
